State of the Art | Integration Communities Project

The level of uncoverage of higher education in the world remains at 70 %.
There were only 7.8 million full-time equivalent researchers in 2013 accounted just for 0.1% of the global population.

It's a project about building bridges between different communities to transfer experience, possibilities, and knowledge through collaborative events and globally distributed projects. On the other hand, it is a distributed network of laboratories for creating S+T+ARTS (Science, Technology & the Arts) startups and “civil green eco” projects in the form of global inter industrial recurring hackathons aimed at solving socially significant issues with final pitches of the results.

Presentation of the project:

About

The SOTA Hackathons Series is an opportunity for developers, creators, and artists to build software-hardware-art solutions that drive social impact, with the aim of tackling the challenges related to the current general social problem topics which are not usually considered by the business environment.

Hackathons are an event where professionals, for a defined period of time, work on topics of interest that may or may not be related to their regular work

Hackathons will have a distributed form and will be organized at the same time in different cities based on a network of independent hackerspaces and makerspaces around the world.

What are the topics of SOTA hackathons?

The theme of each hackathon is a global socially important issue that is not a priority for the business world.

Informally, a global issue is any issue (problem, risk) that adversely affects the global community and environment, possibly in a catastrophic way, including environmental issues, political crisis, social issues and economic crisis.

Solutions to global issues generally require cooperation among local communities of activists and technologists at the global level on the basis of a distributed world network of creative spaces.

What is the specialty of SOTA hackathons?

Our framing criteria were:

Teams of creators from different communities

1 tipycal team of SOTA hackathons

have the main idea and art experience

put the idea into practice

expand the tools and promote the scientific value

give a fresh look and get a new experience

solve the problem of the feeling of loneliness

embed in the educated community and get opportunities for self-implementation

Partners

spreading of academic values

big promotion for business and solving the problem with employees on the verge of professional burnout

implementation of the Foundation's mission

implementation of the organization's mission

Places

In many cities across the globe, there are groups of technical enthusiasts who will unite to form Hackerspaces. Hackerspaces or makerspaces are community-operated physical places, where people share their interest in tinkering with technology, meet and work on their projects, and learn from each other.

It is usually a place where people are free to engage in science, technology, knowledge dissemination and research.

Hackerspaces around the world will be used as places for

Each of the hackerspace halls will be physically accessible in its own city, as well as all other halls will be accessible via an online platform.

Example of Prague:

Steps

#steps #discussion

As for the process of preparing a project, at this stage, I see it like this:

1) The phase of formation of local communities of the festival in the cities of hackerspaces

2) The phase of creating projects

3) Phase of the final exhibition and opening day

(General)

(In every town)

During these stages, the involved local film crews will work with the hackerspaces, who will film interviews with the participants, talk about the hackerspace and its culture, and also document the process of creating installations.

Results: During the implementation of the project, each hackerspace should become the center of the public artistic, social and technological discourse of the city of the home by means of expansion into the local media and involvement of the blogging intsagram and tik tok community. The community that will be formed during the project can continue to exist and implement its own projects aimed at solving the problems of social groups of participants. Collaborations with universities and businesses can bear fruit in the form of new equipment and people who share the philosophy of open knowledge and hackerspace.

Global Interventional Hackerspace Meet Up (SOTA) // report: (5.9.20)

We had talked about the State of the Art Communities Integration Project, aimed at popularizing the os s+t+arts (open source science, technology, and art) public projects based on hackerspaces around the world in the form of interdisciplinary hackathons aimed at solving the problems of certain UN, as global tasks facing humanity, with the subsequent presentation results of local hackathons on a common video bridge with the involvement of local investors to encourage interesting ideas and community of schoolchildren/activists/students to participate in teams and further develop prototypes of those born on hackathons at a time when industry professionals return to their jobs and will not have time further play with technology until the next global hackathon.

The meeting was attended by 10 people and three hacking facilities: Prague, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk.

Hackerspaces and projects were introduced.

* The concept of State of the Art Communities Integration project was introduced: https://brmlab.cz/project/sota/start
* The frequency of global meetings was determined: every two weeks.
* TODO :: Organize brainstorming over the inventory system of hackerspace equipment.
